Alternator replacement 2006 C230

OK, so in the spirit of the holiday I volunteered to replace the alternator on a disabled veteran's 2006 C230. I know nothing of those cars. Can someone tell me if there is anything special required to do the job?
Thanks,

Could be the voltage regulator. Two bolts and it is replaced. It contains the brushes. Unless the current alternator has 150K I would think that brushes would do it.

Thanks, I might try that first. I have not yet seen the car, but supposedly it has high miles.
