Front ride height for a stock W124?

I have a -92 300tdt that has been fitted with Eibach springs that should lower it about 1,5" all around.

This seems to be correct in the rear but in the front it is very low almost to the point of contact between tire and fender.
I checked the rubber pad and it is already the 4 bump (thickest) model so no help there.

I checked the springs and they still have the original coat of paint all over them so they haven't been cut or heated
Could it be that the springs have compressed over time?

The Eibach agent here claims a "lifetime" warranty in cases like these but on the phone with them they told me it was normal height and nothing they would do about it.

This is the part where you come in to the rescue......
So I figured I get the correct height from center of wheel to edge of fender on a stock non-lowered car and subtract the 1,5" and if I end up with a different number larger than mine I'll call back and slap it in their face.

My height as of now with the 4 bump pad is 12,75" or 325mm measured from center of wheel to the upper edge of the fender with no load in the car.
Most W124's should have the same height when they left the assembly line or at least with a very small variation.

They do not sound like Eibach springs. SPAX and others also paint their springs red. How sure are you that those are Eibachs?

If they are Eibach there is a distinct possiblity that you have the wrong springs under there for your engine. It may be the 200E/230E springs you got under there, a lot of people ignore this fact when buying especially if they see a nice deal on some springs, and they then try to compensate for the mistake with spring pads. 200/230 springs would slam a 300 down and slam a 400 right on to the tires. But here is the kicker, the rear springs are almost identical through out the model range because the rear curb weight of the W124 line up (not including 400E/500E) does not change much throughout except if you have options like power windows and such, this is why your rear looks fine.

Hope this helps. If you have the spring number, which may still be somewhere on the spring, you should double check this.

I'm way ahead of you, I have already checked the numbers that fortunately still was clearly visible on all four springs complete with Eibach logo and all.

Managed to find a pdf on the Eibach website that listed the numbers and they checked out good for my type of car.

Been looking all over for a benz that isn't lowered but haven't seen a single one yet,......typical

Oh well, the search continues.

I have two 300E(s) that have been lowered. One has Eibach and the other has AMG springs on it. Measuring from the ground to the bottom lip of the fender well they both measure 25 13/16 inches. HTH
