Headlights flashing
Car is a 1989 260E.
Is there s headlight flashing feature on this car. Pulling on the headlight arm, there seem to be a detent which would allow this feture but nothing happens. I'm sure it exists on Euro models. Diagnostic??? Thanks JackD |

Mine works...
but, it has to be something wrong with yours. I do not know how to diagnosed. However, my guess is your "headlight arm" is not making contact.

JackD,
In my car, the engine/ignition has to be on for the "flash-to-pass" feature to be activated. I dunno if it's a Canadian or North American thing. I found it odd that the "flash-to-pass" and the horn are not activated without the ignition/engine on - these are things that would be useful in an emergency, without the engine necessarily on. |
