For members needing to remve MB suspension coil springs

Just rented this from autozone for $50. I guess before they had the standard compressor that uses the 2 long rods and hooks that go along the outside of the spring. This one is easy to use and works similar to the MB compressor I guess since it goes inside of the coil and you only need to twist one bolt to compress it.

I need to retract this post. The compressor does not fit through the hole in the control arm so it does not work. Sorry

I have one of those with the hooks on both ends....works ok for the rear springs as you only need to compress them an inch or two to get them out, but I'd NEVER try it on the front springs.

I did my front springs with the sg motorsports compressor, and didn't die. :) It was under 200 shipped.

I believe thats the same one I have. I've used it on my 124, and three 126's without issue.

Shouldn't the screw head point up through the perch rather than down through the control arm?

Another problem is the coils are too close together when the spring is installed. You'll get the spring in place but you can't remove the tool.

The main problem is the tool does not work, period. You won't even be able to compress the spring at all because it does not fit on the car. The compressor needs to be able to function while the spring is on the car and it does not. It works fine to compress when the spring is off the car, but thats about it and it won't help much.
