190e 2.5-16v diff. question

What type is the limited slip diff. on the 1990 190e 2.5-16v ? Is it ASD or mechanicaly locked (how can I check what type it is) ? If I change the 3.07 diff with a 3.27 or a 3.23 how will the performance change ? To my understanding it will accelerate faster but have a lower top speed , is this correct ? I'am asking this question because I will be changing the diff on my car and I'm not sure I'll be able to find a 3.07 diff.

Your car has a mechanical differential.

If you change your diff gearing, you change your final drive ratio...going to a numerically higher diff will improve your 0-60 time, but you'll increase RPMS at all speeds, so can be buzzy on the highway.
