oil change 300E

First of all thanks to everyone who answered my last question on the forum.
I have just read some posts about oil changes and I'm amazed at how often most of you change engine oil !!! My 1987 300E has always been serviced at authorized MB workstations and they've always instructed me to come back each 10.000 miles!!! Why do I read that most of you change oil after just 3.000 miles???
Maybe the oil in Poland is better? ;)

Maybe the Polish mile is shorter:D
