W124 95 E320 Sedan Window Regulator

I wanted to know if the sliding jaw for window regulator is all I need to replace in my door? The motor is still working for sure. I have the part out and took a picture of what is broken - presumably the sliding jaw. It's a lot cheaper for just that then a whole new unit. Thanks in advance! If it is just the jaw, any advice on how to replace it (steps, gotchas) is appreciated. I am a novice so I do prefer guidance at this point while I try and learn new repairs. Regards - Jay W.

Currently have the same problem. You may want to look at my thread on the Diesel Discussion - W124 Window Stops Short. After some tremendous help from the Forum members I just ordered the Sliding Jaw for my 1995 E300D rear psg door. Peach Parts has a genuine Mercedes jaw for $13.00. If your motor goes up and down I would say you can do the repair with just the jaw. By your picture I can see where the bottom half of the left side is gone.

I used junk yard stuff and a zip ties to make my window reg work. Been fine for over a year now. May or may not work in your case. I put the wire ends in the jaw and then routed them to/from the motor if that helps. It's far to hard to "stretch" the wires while in place to insert into the jaw.

MTUpower may have it right. I have now ordered the replacement as per the catalog - not even close and the 1996 E300 sliding jaw which looks similar to mine but also will not work - no way to attach the cable ends. So I went to the Mercedes dealer with my regulator and all the sliding jaws I had acquired. According to them, the jaw is not sold separately. You have to buy the whole unit for $399! We called a mechanic out from service and he verified that the sliding jaw is not replaceable. He pointed out how the cable pulleys are spot welded to the rail thereby making it impossible to replace the sliding jaw. I am thoroughly disgusted at the moment. I am about to go MTUpower's route.

Check out my post #7 and #11 in this thread. I purchased part #2107200042 from my indy for $13.50 to replace the broken slider.
