W123 with a 2.6 M103?
Has it ever been done before. I was planning on selling my M103 with what I guess might be 209K miles on it (that's what the odometer says but it runs well) but my dad likes the idea of putting it in his 240D, which has a blown engine. He also informed me of something last night that my mechanic didn't tell me when I talked to him, my mechanic did a compression test and it had good compression in all cylinders. I figure why not, I have most of the parts I would need if it is a straight forward swap. I could use the automatic but my dad wants a manual (gotta use a w124 or w201 manual).
Has anyone here done this swap before or know of someone who has? |
all you need is wiring. Lots of wiring. Factory wiring is available if you've got the original car handy. Megasquirt is an option.
There's a thread around someplace about a fellow putting an alloy M117 into a W123 and how he handled the wiring issues. -CTH |
yes I have the entire original car sitting in my driveway
