The 0.7 bar minimum is something I got off the forum here.
S, I'd look at you oil pressure sensor if your meter doesn't top out. Check the connections and make sure you have good contact. While we may argue at what the idle pressure should be, it should always be at 3 bar when your foot is on the accelerator. For the older engines (worn), Valvoline has an oil called 'Max-Life' that is supposed to work well.

oil pressure
Steve ,
Thank you for the info . I have an owner's manual , but it is in german and i really don't understand it . And yes , you are right about measuring oil level : one day i checked it warm and it was half-way on the gauge , and after ~ 100 km i checked it again , one morning engine cold - it was very low . Then rechecked it engine warm - it was back at half-way... Concerning my oil pressure , i think it is more than ok ..... ? Still , i have an oil cooler and i'm wondering how the oil is allowed through - freely or via a thermostat ? Somebody said it has one , but when does it open , at what temp ? Hope to receive your opinion ... TO EVERYBODY : THIS FORUM , AS WELL AS ALL THIS SITE , IS WONDERFULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL !!!!!!!!!!! KEEP IT THAT WAY !!! |

The oil cooler thermostat is located in the filter housing on all of mine. Here is a link to find out the opening temperatures.
oil cooler not working? Takes a long time of hard running to open the ones on my diesels. Don't know about the gasoline model.
