slow to start
have an 89, 300e, it is a dog when i try to accelerate- if i put my
> foot to the metal - the car can hesitate 3-4 seconds- especially bad > when starting off on a steep hill-it seems like it just won't go for a > few seconds- then it's fine- i've checked the fuel filter, points, plugs, fuel mixture regulator, used synthetic fuel cleaners- > nothing has made it any better, it seems to be better in the cold- once > i've been driving a while it's even worse- someone said to check the > idle air controll valve? - any suggestions > > |

Sounds like the air-flow position sensor isn't sending a signal to allow the computer to richen the fuel mixture. This sensor can cause the engine to die on decel & even cause idle problems.
