Secondary fuel filter for w124's

Hey all, few years back I was just starting out the whole DIY thing and asked about how to replace the fuel filter by the fuel pumps on my w124. There was the mention of a secondary fuel filter situated on the fuel distributor, I had never heard of it before but we were shown a picture and location.

I forgot about this old thread and filter but yesterday I was going through my old threads and came across it again, so I decided to check it out. Went to the dealer and ordered the part.

For anyone who wants it, the part number is:

000 074 60 86

It's listed as "screw fitting" but it has the small filter in the middle and it ran me 13$ from the dealer. Here are some pics.

Hope this is helpful to anyone who was looking for this one.

Is the element inside one of those gauze like mesh? If so, can it be reverse flushed and refitted?

Yes, they are small little mesh screens, I suppose you could flush it and clean it that way, when I took mine out though, one of the screens had popped out so it may be worth it just to get the new one.
