door lock tumbler 87 300E
My door lock ceased to function and on removal the tumbler is broken. I can buy a keyed tumbler for $250-310 or get a tumbler with a second key for $60. Is it possible to pull the pin system out of the bad tumbler and put in the $60 one? Any ideas? Could a good locksmith do something? My tumbler has the alarm wire.

get a good used tumbler with the alarm wire. Swap pins from your old tumbler and try your old key. You should be in business. If your new used tumbler is still in the carrier - make sure you get the key with it or you will never remove the tumbler from the carrier unless you are a really experienced locksmith.
