Power Headrest Access W124
 

How does one get the back panel off the front seats to get access to the power headrest plastic gears? I see two screws on the bottom that seem to hold the back on but when I take those two out, the panel doesn't want to seem to budge and I don't want to break anything.

Yeah its tough to get it out.

I tried a few times and finally got it out, and I thought I was going to break it.

I think the trick is to pull down on it and then pull it.

I'm not sure though, I can't remember exactly, I remember pulling down hard, and yanking it off towards me.

It finally gave. I then repositioned the clips for it and fixed the headrest with a wiretie to repair the broken plastic piece.

After removing the screws you have to take a putty knife like tool, slide in the slot I am pointing to and "pry" the back out of the side. Push the handle of the tool toward the center of the car. Take your time, don't use anything really sharp and start at the bottom.
