well there ya go... so for the record... I popped my mercedes manual cds in the microwave and zapped both of them for 3 seconds, resulting in an incredible light show as the metal alloy writable surface turned into a giant conducting surface, creating large arching points of electricity. Anyway, did you guys also know that soon under the cyber terrorism laws, you will also be a terrorist of you illegaly copy cds? Oh yea, and don't take pictures of bridges or public phones! Why? Because that is now punishable by up to 10 years in prison.... because you know... that makes you a terrorist! And no, I am not kidding, actually, the RIAA also wants to make it illegal to make your own computer! Wow... so at this rate... ill be thrown in a secret prison as a detainee... not a prisoner mind you, but a detainee for an indefinate amount of time by the time im 21! What a life!
P.S. Lebenz... you are absolutely correct about this thread being not safe legality wise... |

"Don't give me any sophisticated crap, give me Chuck Berry"-
John Lennon for you Cap'n and Tracy ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ One thought for Old Blue-One advantage I've found for a computer based info system is that the pages can be printed off and brought to the work area. You don't have to worry about getting the book splattered in oil or what have you, just toss it when you're through I like having a book also though, in case the computer crashes or what have you. Or fiche, as long as you have power and a good fiche reader bulb, you should be in business

I'm old school like Old Blue about a print manual. It's great to be able to just grab it and find what you need. I'm printing my own from the CD as I need it so it won't be long before I'll have a complete manual So there are good points about both! Dan, wasn't John Lennon one of the Beatles? :p

Hey badinfo - as a former electronic tech - a little advice - NEVER put metal in your microwave unless it makes up less than 10% of the total mass put in it. The spark show may be impressive - but it ruins magetrons! When mircowaves first came out - our factory service dept. was told to never put metal in it - without an explanation. Being curious Techs we wondered why - so we put a fork in a new one and turned it on. Great 4 second lightning show! Then we checked the output of the magnetron and in that four seconds the output had gone down 50%!!! We changed it and never did that again. - A word to the wise from one who knows. Just as an aside - I think I have one of the best .6 cu ft microwaves around. I bought it in 1978 - used it extensively raising 4 kids and it still works great on a daily basis with only 3 cavity light bulbs and 2 fuses being changed in all that time! - Almost time for Ripley's!

I don't think Badinfo actually did that! He was just trying to purify those "questionable" cd's . But on the subject, my sister bought one of the first microwaves, put in a fresh egg, turned it on and blew the door off the microwave. Egg parts all over the kitchen! Boy that was funny!!

File a writ of habeas corpus! Or has it been suspended again like Lincoln did?

I thought that Yolkamess Maximus was the cousin of the wife of John Lennon? You know, the one that married the con-man. I think her married name was Yolkamess Bootlegus-Maximus ....
Please don’t tell me I’m wrong – I’d hate to have egg on my face

sorry - you're wrong - the yolk's on you. By the way - you can buy the knock-off CD's for chickenfeed compared to the originals. Mind you - if you don't have the scratch----sorry - that's what I get for going off half-"cocked"
