Crankshaft Position Sensor

The new Crankshaft Position Sensor arrived today for my 1994 Mercedes E320 wagon. I have not replace the old crankshaft Position Sensor yet because I read somewhere that the new crankshaft position sensor needs to have some form of air gap calibration. What does that mean and how to do it? Any advice out there?

There in not an adjustable air gap on that engine. Just swap it out. Disconnect the battery to relearn the sensor rotor adaptation. Or use a HHT. When your done

Thanks for responding. What is HHT?

Older MB scan tool

It's an easily built diagnostic tool with very simple electronic inclination, and very basic soldering ability.

Google or Search "How to build W124 Scan tool". Most likely the easiest key terms to get most results.

Thanks for the tip and I already have a code reader on the older 1994 E320 model. Works like a charm!
