W126 87 SDL AC blower motor
I have to replace the AC blower motor in my 87 SDL. The price of a replacement motor is a little less than half the price of a motor with fan. I don't quite see how the fan comes off the motor. Is it a press fit or what?
Thanks, Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL 81 300SD (on ebay) |

I saw a thread in the archives recently, someone suggested a creative technique to remove fan and was relieved to accomplish without destroying the fan, but I read it very late on a frustrating night so I can't recall the details.

Yes, it is just pressed onto both, the fan itselt and the casing.
I put the blower in between two tables with the motor hanging and used a center punch to get the motor off it. I did the same to get the motor out of the assembly. Mine died in my SDL at 250K. |
