repairing sagging nets on seatbacks
 

The net pockets on the seatbacks in my TD are spent. By that I meant the elastic cord has no more elasticity to it. I would like to remove them from the seatbacks, take up the slack a little and reinstall them. I don't really plan on using them, but I would like to make them look better. Has anyone done this. This is on a W123 TD

On a 126 you can remove two screws on bottom of the seat back and then lift upwards removing the whole plastic panel.You can then get to the net frame from the rear and replace the shock cord for another 200K!;)

MB makes you buy the whole assembly. I went to a mountain climbing store and found black elastic that looked really close. Took it apart and put in the new, can't even tell it's not stock.

I'm glad someone else is going to do this. I thought I was the only MB freak. Next you need to pull the instrument cluster and paint the needles orange again, now that's a job!

I will fix the nets, but I will not paint the needles. I know what you mean, but I am afraid I would mess up the needle stems. To look at the plastic "border" that goes around the net has 4 spots where it looks like there is access covers to some retaining screws, but upon closer examination I found that they weren't removable. So maybe there are screws on the other side. I'll try and remove the seatback cover.

The needles weren't that bad.

If I remember, take the screw off the seat back at the bottom and remove the back. I think the net assembly is held on from the back with screws.
