99 ML 320 - stalling when stopped in Drive
I just replace an O2 sensor (hopefully the right one) but still have a problem with the car stalling when I stop it in Drive. If I give it a little more gas at idle, it will keep running.
If I shift it to Park or Neutral -- with the slightly higher idle speeds, it runs fine. What will cause the stalling when stopped in Drive?? I did test the problem with my device that indicated only a 110 - O2 sensor problem. No other codes came up. Thanks, Ben Carter |
Might be a problem with the fuel pump or fuel pump relay. I would secure a known working fuel pump reply and swap yours out to see if that resolves the issue.

Have you checked the air filter and cleaned the mass airflow sensor in the intake (with MAS cleaner/spray)? That can cause idle issues on the M112 engine.

Idle problems ML320
I also suspect the MAF, but will clean it to see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestion

The 110 is a intake air temperature problem, and means you need to clean the maf and retest, a bad MAF will cause stalling.

PO110 repair reading
My reading device said it was a 110 problem and ID was specifically the Bank 2 O2 sensor 1
I did have the sensor replaced and still had the reading, but I went in and erases a large quantity of old readings. Then when I restarted the car, the Check Engine light went out and stayed out, and the stalling also stopped. I am now driving the car 80 to 100 miles to allow the IM readings to return to "Ready" I don't understand why you feel that the MAF was the cause, but it appears that my machine reading and the O2 replacement and the Erasing of old messages did the trick ?! |
