Cleaning M116/M117 Idle Air Control Valve
Is there an accepted way to clean the IACV?
Spray it out? Soak it? Throw it away and buy a good one? New they are $600+ :eek: |
Maybe a gentle mist with carb cleaner then a blast of air? That's what I did to mine recently when I had it out, then I tested it on a 9V battery to make sure it was clicking through its full travel....

Carb cleaner and a gentle 'persuasive' tap usually frees them up.
