82 380SL no spark after injector seat repair

Hello, I know this is a well covered item, but this one to me is unusual. I just did an R&R on my injector seat O rings to seal up vacuum leaks I had. The car started right up fine. I let it warm up and put the multimeter on the diagnostic port to see how far off the mixture was. I leaned it out (CCW on the tower) a few 1/16th. of a turns. The car stumbled and stalled. I went back a 1/8th. turn and the car is a no start. After playing around with it, I find there is no spark. I checked the OVP fuse and it's OK. MY question is, I have a hard time believing that this is a coincidental parts failure - so would any of the sensor wires on top of the engine (obviously I moved them around) be able to kill the spark? The frequency valve is buzzing, the coil has power, but it will not fire. Thanks for your input. Andy

If your plugs are all fowled up, you won't get a spark.
don't know how you checked for a spark,, i.e. timing light, or disconnect spark plug wire from plug, using a new spark plug ground the outside with battery cables and look for a spark with the plug out of the engine.
