I forgot about transmission wiring
By looking at the transmission I see the normal stuff nuetral safety switch and I would guess that it has an electric kickdown for passing gear this I may not need is it alright to simply not hook it up?

I think he meant to post this to his original thread Hill. Anyway, it's a '79 240D engine being transplanted into a '57 Willis. I think you will be OK without hooking up the kick down solenoid, unless you want to use the kickdown for hill climbing power, then you might want to make that connection. You would just have to fabricate some way of mounting the kickdown switch under the accellerator pedal.
