Best Spark Plugs & Wires for 190E 2.6 ?

Just bought a 93 190E 2.6.
What are the best spark plugs & wires for this engine ?

Genuine Mercedes wires are the best, and the most expensive. They will last you at least 5 years. Bosch is ok, but will only last half as long.

I use Ngk spark plugs. Some people use champion. It doesn't really matter as long as they are non resistor plugs, and you change them every year, or 16,000 miles.

dlb500, MB recommends spark plug replacement every 30,000 miles for that vintage engine.

I am well over 5 years with Beru wires. Original MB wires never gave trouble up to 15 years and they're probably still OK.

If you got for MB, expect 10+ years. Same goes for MB cap and rotor.

Original MB wires fit the best too.

Order NON-RESISTOR plugs. Resistor plugs are a big no no with these engines.

Use NGK BP5EFS for Plugs.

This is the only time you will ever hear me recommend this vendor...

Autozone is a decent source for plug wires, they sell Bosch wires with a lifetime warranty, and they have the correct 1k Ohm (or is it 5k on an M10x?) ends on them, and they seem to have a no questions asked attitude about replacing them. I have a friend with a car, he holds onto his receipt and just gets fresh set of Bosch wires every 3-4 years for his W124 for free from AZ.

Other than that don't ever go to AZ ;)

I agree with Diesel Paul as far as wires from Autozone. I have not paid for soak plug wires in years and I have changed them at least 6-7 times in the past 5 years (a little ocd, but they are free so I take advantage.

Autozone pads are lifetime, too... I'm running their softest pads on my Buick & hoping to keep the rotors good for a long time.

Ha! Thats where my 420SEL wires came from. No problems, years later. And they weren't all that pricey either.
