Little vacuum connection on M102 manifold - what's it for?
G'day Folks,
I've asked elsewhere but have had no serious reactions! Does anyone know about this connection on a M102 intake manifold? http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...-manifold1.jpg It sits at the back of the fuel distributor thingy (this is missing in the picture - in case that's not clear - and yeah I know the start valve is the wrong way round but I've already fixed that!) It came with this bit of fabric covered pipe with a screw stuck in the end of it http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...-manifold2.jpg Could this be a vacuum connection for an automatic transmission (I have manual shifting gearbox so not needed)? Thanking you all in advance - need to know - must know |
Whoap! This thread from the UK seems to confirm that it is for the automatic.
Harsh auto shift - vacuum issue? |

What's it for? Vacuum. lol had you not said "no serious reactions" I would have just quoted you and posted "vacuum" |
He who shall not be named did make a comment like that but he's just redeemed himself...

The vacuuming hose is NLA, of course. |

RED LINE THIS THING ALREADY! |
As I explained earlier there is really no need for a vacuum cleaner in my car - it is always spotlessly clean - just like the group captain's daughter (who always kept her cockpit clean)

On my 2.6 there are 2, one for the transmission (automatic) and one for the economy gauge on the instrument cluster. The tempmatic climate control also sources vacuum from one of the two. When I added adjustable headlight beam functionality, I tapped into the same vacuum source.

Thanks Patrick total confirmation - car vacuuming attachment myth busted.
