ML 430 Stall

My parents have a 2000 ML430, which sometimes stalls when driving it. This only happens when my mother drives it, and she has her key on a wallet. I've heard that there may be some type of problem with the weight of her wallet disengaging the electronic sensors or something in the ignition. Apparently it happened when she applied the brakes "kind of hard". The radio stayed on, but she doesn't know about the power steering or brakes. Anyone know of this happening to anyone else, or a possible recall? I'm assuming that this could happen to any newer mercedes automobile with that specific key technology. Doesn't seem very safe!! Any reply is welcome!
Thanks,
Matt
