My euro '79 280 SLC will not supply fuel continuiosly, only when the ignition switch is in the start position. I believe it is the fuel pump relay switch. Could you please help me identify the component and where to find it. Thanks. Please view my web page for pics at<home.istar.ca/~routes>

Your M110 engine has CIS fuel injection. You will find a fuel safety shut off switch located just under the air filter housing. To locate it, lift off the air cleaner housing. In front of the fuel distributor you will see a plug that is blue or black in color. It will plug directly into the housing of the air plate.

This switch serves as a safety fuel shut off in the event the engine should stop running. It also keeps the fuel pump(s) running while the engine is running, so should the switch fail, the fuel pump(s) will not run after you release the start mode of the ignition switch.
