OEM Brake Pad Manufacturer
Now that I finally got the races out of the hub and changed the bearings on my 380sl, I'm getting ready to change my pads and rotors.
So I was wondering if you guys would be kind of enough to tell me, if you can, whether I'm assured of getting Textar pads if I buy pads that sellers label Original Equipment or Genuine. I'm asking because I've been using Textar for years, and never had a squeak or squeal. In contrast, I see that many people who have used Pagid which -- if I'm not mistaken -- is an OE supplier, reported squeaking and squealing. In addition, I plan on replacing my rotors with OE rotors, so I'd like to have the same set up the car originally had. Thanks very much in advance for the info.

I had stock pads on my '97 CL500 and every two days I would have to wash off the front wheels. Then I heard about Akebono pads and they are on there now. They are semi ceramic (I think) and hopefully a LOT cleaner. Time will tell.

Akebono brake pads are ceramic and are low dust maintenance. They are an improvement over MB pads by far. I'd say go with ake.
