Throttle Position Switch
 
Does any one know if you can buy the throttle position switch seperately for a 1988 300E? I took it apart and it was the problem with the idle fluctuating. I glued the cover back on which fixed it temporarily. It must have got moisture in it as it is acting up again. The part number on the sensor is 006 545 18 24. If someone has a spare one would they sell it? The local dealer wants $450 as it only comes complete with the throttle body.

My independant tech is going to sell me a throttle body from an 89 300e I will check to see if the TPS is also avalable if you are interested.

On this sensor & OTHERS our government doesn't think that technicians can properly install & adjust them so MB only sells the throttle body ASSEMBLY.
