1997 e320 oil filter location
 
I found on the DIY site the filter location for 1998 and later E models. I have a 1997 E320 (6 cilinders in line engine), where is the oil filter??

It is at the back of the engine under the black plastic oil filter cap. Unscrew the cap and the filter will pull out of its housing.

Your welcome, and don't forget to unscrew the oil filter before you drain the oil so that you evacuate the oil that drains out of the canister after it is removed.
