From what I did on my 97 E320 W210 to get it open. In addition to removing the under engine skid pan, the plastic ahead of the wheel / under headlight / inner fender area needs to be removed. Use a very long flat blade screw driver to pry off the latch plastic cover ( if it has one ) then trip the latch from there. The latch will need to move to left to open. ( The cable runs from drivers side to pass and is pulled to the left to operate. ) It is going to be a squeeze and you might need to pry some items out of the way.
You might have a hood alarm switch on the right side that may get damaged / pried out of the way. |

On the 97 E320 W210 I was working on, that got me to the latch, can't be 100% on yours.
On yours, take a look where the drivers latch is and measure to center of car. Then go the same distance from center to pass side and put a mark / tape under the bumper. Next measure drivers side latch front to rear, do same on pass side. This will give you X, Y coordinates as to where to look for the pass latch. You might have an air filter duct or similar in the way. |

the only problem with mine so far is the latch underneath dash has to be pushed forward after opening,or hood won't lock.
