Basicly 3 gals. I just flushed and filled my '83 300TD. It actually takes 11.6 quarts, again, basicly just about 3 gals.

Are you referring to just the radiator and not the entire cooling system? I am not sure of the exact number but the radiator will hold conderably less coolant than the entire cooling system holds.

The radiator holds about 3 1/2 to 4 quarts - about 1 gallon. The rest of the coolant, about 8 qts., is in the engine.
Good Luck! Tom
