Which A\C compressor was OEM W201

Hello,
Can anyone tell me which model number of Nippon Denso Air conditioner compressor my 1986 W201 2.3-16v had or should say still has in it? I found some info that makes me believe it might be NIPPON DENSO 10P15C but I am not sure. There is also a Denso 10PA15C out there showing from my car. I have seen that they do not seem to be interchangeable. Any help? I just know a lot about making the A\C work right and replacing the parts and compressor but I am not sure which compressor I have. Don't want to mess with it too much since it is buried in there before I have a proper replacement.
Christopher

More searching MBZ part #

The EPC shows my 102.983 engine taking an ac compressor 000 230 24 11
That seems to be the Denso 10P15C.
It looks like the other W201 Denso is now an 000 230 11 11 originally the OEM part 102 130 01 15 and it is a 10PA15C.
Can anyone confirm this for me. I want to be sure I need the 10P15C Denso before I order. This is for a 1986 W201 102.983 2.3-16v

Call the dealer and get a definite confirmation through providing them your VIN.

Talked to the Dealership

I talked to the dealership last week and they were happy to confirm that I needed the compressor that the EPC showed as a A0002302411 and that used to be a A0031319501. They were also happy to sell me remanufactured one for a ridiculous price. What they were not sure of was what model of Denso the compressor was. They were not sure if it was a 10P15C or a 10PA15C and apparently they are not interchangeable. They were not too interested in helping me find out the Denso model so I could go buy it somewhere else and not pay them for the part or the installation.

Dealership not willing to help? That sounds about right. Get your car on some Jack stands and go look at the model number......do a Google search first to see where the model number stamp is located first.

Yes, time to look under car

Ya, I am not getting anywhere. I figure I need to get it up and go under the car and look for numbers. It is just so low and the compressor is buried. I think it is a 10P15C. I will check it out. I think the main difference is the RPM sensor for the 10P15C is mounted on the rear end of the compressor. I'll find out the numbers by eyes on.

I am fitting a Denso 10PA15C compressor to my W201. Original was 10P15C.
New one fits up fine...will see how all pans out...
Original Denso 10P15C compressor was MB P/N 003 131 70 01. (R12 gas)
Replacement Denso 10PA15C (ex US) is equivalent to MB P/N 102 131 01 01. (R134A gas)

I had to source a pipe manifold to fit...again, a salvage compressor ex USA helped out there.

In Australia, can only use R134A gas or legal equivalents. R12 is out the door here....so the later compressor should be fine....
