impulse codes for all chassis? or W126 and W124?

Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone has a website or reference that has a listing of all the impulse codes to read to diagnose problems. The W124 is a 500E, i don't know if the codes are different than most W124's, if so please let me know so I don't solve the wrong problem :) Also a W126 codes, or where i can find them on my service cds? Thanks guys, i appreciate it.

The codes might also be year specific.

Back in 1993 MB published a book with all of the impulse(analog) codes. NLA!!! Baum Tools has a simular book for sale.

grrrr :)

Well does anyone know what impulse code 26 is for a 1992 500E?

Yes that code means that the trans delay up-shift isn't keeping the car in second gear long enough the first time on a cold start. The computer is looking for the 2 to 3 shift to be at 26-28 mph.

hmm...that's odd. I took it to the dealer and they told me my driver side seat belt buckle needs replaced because my SRS light is on. Do you think that's an old code? Or am i reading it wrong? Theres only one code, and i have counted 26 blinks numerous times.

Yoy are in the emmission module diagnostics with the delay shift 26 code.
It is for emmission related codes only [ which delay shift is one]
SRS is not in that module .

Alright thanks, I really appreciate the responses, I guess i'll still get the buckle replaced then. How can i read the other diagnostics? Like SRS?

I made one of those for my W126, but it seems like when i put it in slot 7, there is nothing its connecting to, it's sort of empty? Do i need a different connector?

Why are you in socket #7?

Arthur Dalton 04-18-2002 08:55 PM

You make a code light/sw and go into the proper plug socket on the diagnostic link connector.
