W111 280 se convt. conversion??
I have a 280 se coupe that I want to convert to a cabriolet. There used to be a company that sold kits. Anybody have a ideas where I can find a kit??

I've heard of a kit by a company called BAEHR in Hagen, Germany. If you do web search on 'BAEHR cabriolet kit' you'll get the archives of some forum including the email address of someone who was intending to get the kit. Might be a lead.

If you are still interested in a coupe to cabriolet kit, let me know. I have access to a guy from whom I bought a kit, and who still has good kits in stock.

W111 280se convt conversion, plus power top conversion
Sorry for the delay, Andy.
My car guy has complete, sub-assembled kits available. Once the kit is installed you will not be visually able to tell it wasn't an original, as it will use an original cabrio top and hoop assembly. The top itself is not normally included in the kit. Also, he might be able to put together the pieces to convert it to a power top. He is working on this right now for my 3.5 cabrio. Let me know what you want to do. |
