Removing front seat bottom
Going to visit a pick and pull yard next week. Hoping to find a good front seat cover bottom. Any tips or links to removing the seat bottom? I really only need the fabric/leather cover, but I assume the entire seat bottom has to come out to get it off. I want to make sure I carry the right tools with me.
Thanks. |
It may depend on the model. IIRC, on a 123, there's a screw or two, or maybe small bolts to free the seat back, and then you just pull the bottom out since it's held in with clips. It's been a year or two since I've done this, so I may be forgetting something.

Skippy, Len is asking about removal of a front seat bottom.

Respectfully request you reread my post. I told him how to pull it.

Skippy, sorry for the confusion ... didn't mean to offend you. I guess you are describing how to remove the cover on the seat bottom because the seat bottom is bolted to the seat tracks.

Actually, I misread the OP and thought he was asking about the back seat. My bad.

I am not trying to hijack this thread but it is a good example of why I am asking this question.
I see in his sig that he has several very different years of Mercedes. How do you know how to answer a question when you don't know what he is working on. Did I miss something? I thought these threads were here to help everyone. My elevator is stuck in the basement so I can't gain anything from this thread, but sure could be miss lead. PaulM |
