What should the water temp run at in a 1985 300D? Mine runs at about 60. Is this likely a bad thermostat?

THE NORMAL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPATURE ON YOUR CAR IS CONTROLLED BY THE THERMOSTAT.
THE ENGINE SHOULD HAVE A THERMOSTAT RATED AT 80 DEGREES C. BE CAREFUL WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT, DONT REMOVE RADIATOR CAP UNTIL ENGINE COOLS DOWN!! REPLACEMENT OF THE THERMOSTAT ON YOUR CAR IS A FAIRLY SIMPLE TASK. |
