I have an aggrevating problem with my center console dash lights. They only work once in awhile. I removed the console and found the bulb that has the fiber optic cables that feed the upper center console rocker switches. I did not have 12 volts at the bulb so I removed the wire and jumpered it to the cigarette lighter bulb. The upper console lights now work but I still don't have lights on the Climate Control, radio and power window lights. I've replaced the headlamp switch which didn't help. I can't trace where I should be getting voltage for these lights.
Can you help? Thanks Marc P |
ON THIS MODEL MERCEDES THERE ARE SEVERAL ITEMS THAT COULD CAUSE CONSOLE LIGHTS NOT TO WORK. FIRST YOU HAVE A "DIMMER" SWITCH ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, SECOND THERE IS A RELAY FOR THE INTERIOR LIGHTING, THIRD THERE COULD BE A FUSE IN THE INST. CLUSTER(DEPENDING ON MODEL YEAR). THE FUSE LOOKS LIKE A BULB SOCKET BUT IT'S RED!
