W126 & W201 Coil Spring Specs.

I'm looking for specs on the front and rear stock coil springs for 126's and 201's. In particular, a 190E 2.3 and 300SD with an OM617.

Need for front and rear of both:

1. Spring rate.
2. Free height.
3. Coil diameter.
4. OD.
5. Space between coils, uncompressed.

Thanks!

Cor bloody heck you don't ask for much do you?

I can't find the FSM chapter for the W201 but I can help with the W126 data

http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/12253/program/Chassis/32-250.pdf

^ this contains the data you want for specific part numbers

http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/12253/program/Chassis/32-010.pdf

Shows you what was fitted where so work backwards chap!

I'll keep looking for the W201 data - I think it is mentioned in the W124 FSM (just in case you know where to look for that...)

Same chapter number but different FSM gives it for different vehicles...

...are you sure you don't want the W123? That's an easy one...

Hm. How does one tell what version of the 126 I should be referencing for part numbers? like 126.024, 126.025, etc?

Look at the information in the second link and work back to chassis type

Okay, I see. Was trying to figure out which part numbers were for which models. Doesn't look like they have OD listed in the chart, though they have it in the diagram.

Chassis types to more common names are given here

Mercedes Benz EPC Type W126 126 Information Everything Benz

For example first gen 300SD ('81 - '85) == 126.120

Shame about the larger diameter "D" in those listings the value does exist in a table for the W123 version of that chapter.

Still you can work backwards (again sorry!) using the formula's here if you want the outer diameter =>
