M103 Oxygen Sensor Removal
Car in signature.
Check Engine light. According to MBDoc, in most cases for my vehicle it's a bad O2 sensor. I need to first pull codes and will do that. I've pulled O2 sensors off of various Asian cars w/o a special tool. Do I need one for my model of MB? Thanks for your time. |
same size, same tool probably. every o2 i've changed on an mb is a 22mm box wrench, 12 pt. assuming it's stuck, run the car a while and get the exhaust hot, spray it with crc, liquid wrench, etc. and try to get it loose while it's hot. then let it cool and remove. good luck, chuck.

Thank You.

The wiring runs across the front of the passenger seat.

On mine I cut the wires because I was using the Mustang sensor. Then just slipped a box wrench over them after using some PB Blaster. I gave the end of the wrench a jolting tap with a mini ball peen hammer and it broke free easily.

Should also mention that shield over the sensor just clips on. You can also use the open ended end of the wrench, I.e. a crowsfoot to torque it back on.
