Well, what is the brand to buy this day in age? The Behr I bought for the 300SEL was crap and was always locked, so I am starting to believe it would be the same for the M117. Sadly Sachs does not seem to make one for the V8s anymore.

Behr? Meyle? OEM?

If the OE is much past $250 I will probably buy a Dakota Digital E-fan controller and install a dual speed Volvo fan from a 960/S90.

Anyone for the Behr?

I put a Meyle in the W210, and it worked fine for the few years afterwards that I kept the car. It seemed a bit "whooshy" when it was working, but I had no comparison to say if it was noisier than Behr or any other. I would say only to stick with the 3 you have listed.

Get a Behr from that house in Arizona.

DO NOT get Meyle or URO. The factory one isn't all that much more, but it is going to be a Sachs/Horton unit which is even better than Behr. Go for the quality/OE.
