Valve guides/seals
Can a DIYer do valve guides and seals on a M116? If so, any special tools or precautions?

I think you can oly renew the seals without taking the head off. You valve spring compressor in order to replace the seals.

It is an easy DIY for the seals. It took me about 4 hours. I reccommend doing the seals first then checking your oil consumption before doing the guides. You will need a valve spring compressor tool made for this engine to do it right.

Even with the head of replacing guides is a job for a machine shop.
