1995 W140 S500 Wiring Harness

Hi, guys, I need your help.

My father's beloved 1995 S500 has the infamous deteriorating wiring harness problem.

I'm trying to tackle this problem but I'm stuck in-terms of figuring what harness I need to source.

I've attached images of the engine bay but I'm not sure what type of wiring harness it is and which one to look for online/ebay when purchasing one.

I called the dealership parts department for help---I was able to find out the price ($827.00) and possibly which harness it could be but they would not tell me the part number. Is there anyone on the board that would be able to kindly help source the part number or tell me which harness this is?

Also, any recommendations for a mechanic that would be able to install it in Southern California (OC/LA/SD) would be much appreciated!

Please refer to the attached photos and take a look at the exposed wires near the center of the engine.

S500 (W140)

Thanks!

Karan

you need your vin number in order to get the correct harness, there are probably about 10 or 14 supercessions of the part number.

SoCal is a BIG place! What part of of the area do you live? There are many good shops depending on locality. "Mr. B"(?) in Encino is highly recommended. Look in the "Recommended" shop portion of this forum. Pick a couple in your area and ask the forum members what their opinion is. You have a main wiring harness and a smaller one that goes down to the starter. replace that one also. And yes, if you don't have EPC sign up for it. It is free to end users. Good info that is for your specific VIN numbered car.
