560sl rev limiter
does anyone know where the rev limiter is on the 560sl? does it automatically cut in at 3200 rpm or is mine on the blink?
I've searched the archives and can't find any information for the 560sl. How can I check it out? Please let me know.... thanks! |

The rev limiter is part of the fuel pump relay. It better be higher than 3200 rpm.

do you know how to replace/check it??
Steve...
thanks for the reply. Do you know if I can check/adjust/replace it? What does it look like? I had both fuel pumps replaced 2 months ago when I bought the car. So perhaps something got hit or busted. Thanks! MB |

I'm pretty sure redline is 5500rpm on the 5.6L V8. If yours is cutting out at 3200 you definately have a problem.

Like Steve said, I'll bet it's the fuel relay.
There have been fairly similar problems with the rev limiter at 3200 RPMs... I remember reading about them... Do a search on REV LIMITER RPM maybe. Good luck
