W/S wiper relay! The car also has another relay the controls the wipers, combination relay inside of the fuse box under the cover.

It should be right behind the relay for the wipers, before the rows of small individual relays in the box F1. It should have a number something like 140 542 03 32 or 05 32.

Just a suggestion...

Besides being a great place to buy parts, I often use the PartsShop and FastLane pages to do searches by part number. I take the number off a part that I'm curious about, type it in and the catalog returns the part name. This has been a good educational tecnique and helps me reference the things I read here (and by seeing the price it keeps me from temptation to tinker while uninformed).

I can't locate the 140 542 03 32 headlamp module on a 92 300sd. The car has no hi beams.
I see the wiper module behind the front fuse panel... nothing else.

Found it but...

I did not realize the four corner screws needed to come out revealing the modules beneath.

The module came out easy enough using the lever but it refuses to go back in.

Still, no high beams. Is there a relay or does the comb sw carry all the headlamp current?

I'm not sure if this diagram applies to the 300SD.

http://www.autolib.diakom.ru/CAR/Mercedes-Benz/1992/300SE/SYSTEM%20WIRING%20DIAGRAMS/4219.pdf

I'm not seeing a relay for the high beam unless it's located in the module. The 140 542 03 32 does not contain a relay. Nothing in that module looks like it would carry headlamp current. Just a couple of ICs and a few caps, diode... no relay.

Lamp failure bulb is lit on the dash at all times with key on and no hi beam headlamps. Bulbs are good.
