High Idle

High idle at start on W201, 190E, 2.6 1993
Any ideas or fixes or where to look. I have already cleaned and lubricated all the linkage and check for vacuum leaks.

If the idle comes down to "normal" when the engine reaches operating temperature, check the coolant temp sensor.

High Idle at start, 1993 190E 2.6

Thank you. The idle does return to "normal" after the car runs, but if I stop at the store for a few minutes, when I restart, it is back up for a bit. I will check the "coolant temp sensor today.

When mine did that it was the IAC. The airflow potentiometer was also bad and contributing to the problem, but was more directly related to hesitation on take off.
