300e spark plugs have oil on them

I changed the spark plugs on my m103 engine with bosch copper plugs and when I took the old plugs out 2 of them had oil on them. Any one experience this?

step #1 replace valve stem seals. there's alot of 103 owners in the group and plenty of post on this subject. do a search..paul

You can do valve stem seals and it might cut down . Most of the time the guides are worn badly. You can do the seals first, but keep in mind you may have to pull the head and have a valve job done.:D

I've seen 103's with 75k on them that had wornout guides. Valve job time

How much does a valve job usually run for a 300e? If it's expensive job will putting the job off cause harm to the engine?

About $1500-2000...

depending on your location. You can wait but, don't wait too long. Keep an eye on the oil level.

Labor on R@R head 9 hours. I would reseal front timing cover also and replace any worn rails and make sure chain ok also, to do this add another 5 hours on top. So 14 hours total. Make sure head bolts are replaced and any sealant used on cover is (permatex right stuff ) I also use the gray. If you would tackle the job yourself its not that hard , you need some special tools and clean work area out of the weather. Alot of people on this board have done their own, so help is availible. When you send the head to the machine shop make sure you send front cover attached. There is a spec how far to cut the head, the you have to cut the cover too cause of the seal underneath . Either way good luck.:D
