w126 300sel Tranny oil cooler lines.

I went ahead and drained both tranny oil cooler lines on my 88' 300sel (w126). I noticed that one of the tranny oil cooler lines is leaking a little oil. not enough to create a drop in one day but enough to saturate the exterior of the line.

I ordered both tranny oil cooler lines and they should arrive by next Tuesday.

I just added 3 quarts of ATF and was thinking of adding just one more before turning on the car and shifting thru the gears. I will eventually add a total of 7 quarts before going for a 10 or 15 minute drive. After a few miles I will drive my car back into my garage and keep the car ON, to then add the rest of the ATF that is needed to bring the ATF to proper level.

I hope that I am correctly following the ATF refill procedure.

If not, please advise.

Now for the tranny oil cooler line replacement that will occur next week, I will remove the oil cooler lines and then measure how much tranny drained out and then add the exact amount of new ATF back into the transmission. I will first check the level prior to adding back the oil and I will add the ATF a little bit at at time, ALWAYS, checking the level in between.

NOTE: Torque Converter was drained

I wish that I could have waited for the oil cooler lines to arrive, prior to filling the tranny with ATF, but I really need my car tomorrow.

Again, advise greatly appreciated
