replace mechanical fuel pump with electric pump?
Any thoughts on this? Seems like it would be pretty easy to throw an electric fuel pump on my 74 230/4 and call it good rather than spending the money and time on a mechanical replacement. Just not sure if the Stromberg will be OK with it.
thanks, daniel |

Rebuild mechanical?
Currently the mechanical pump (which seemed to be operating fine last week) shows zero pressure. What are the chances of being able to fix this? My guess is that there is a torn diaphram or something, and that my only option would be to buy a new unit.
So I guess I would like to know before I pull the old one off, if the electric pump option is reasonable, or if there is a reasonable chance that I could repair the mechanical one. If neither is an option, then I will order the new one and not start the job yet. thanks for your input. daniel |
