Unhappy Which valve spring compressor for 116 engine?

Can anyone suggest a valve spring compressor for
the 116 engine ('88 420SEL).
The units I've seen have the jaws in direct line with the compression screw, but the cam is in the way.
Does the cam have to come off? If so how, without pulling the rockers first?
Is there a compressor with the jaws offset?

HELP!

Thanks,

Try the kind of valve compressor that hooks to the camshaft.

What's a compression screw?

By "compression screw" I mean the bolt that the handle turns to close the jaws. The jaws are in a straight line with the bolt/handle, the cam is above the valve (slightly off center to valve), leaving no room to slip the tool onto the spring.

Any idea who makes a spring compressor that works on the cam?
I haven't seen that kind.

Thanks,

So you're trying to use the kind that hooks two sides of the spring. That works on an M103, but not an M116/7 with the cam in place. Just about any auto parts store has the kind that's a 15" bar with a couple of hooks on the end that catch the cam and a couple of bars midspan than press down on the spring retainer.
