The cruise control in my 86 16V is not working. Every now and then it will work, and sometimes it will accelerate but wont hold the speed. Most of the time it doesn't do anything. I always assumed I had a bad amplifer, but today I took the amp from my 87 and put it in the car. The cruise still didn't work. Do I have two bad amplifers? Could something else be wrong, and is their a way to test the that it is inded a bad amp?

Did the cruise work in the other car before you swapped the amp out? If so have the speed pick-up checked on the baack side of the speedo.
