'83 500SEL Hydro pneumatic suspension
HELP!!!
I replaced the "air cells" in the rear suspension to stop this car from bouncing around like a low rider. Do you have to bleed the hydrolic system after the air cell containers are replaced as the rear end still bounces? If so, what is the procedure?? Thank you John

Bouncy after air cell replacement.
If th eshocks are full of air/nitrogen, then yes you have to purge the air. Remove the rear seat, remove th eplastic access panels, loosen the 'banjo' fitting bolt and allow the air to escape.
The shcok HAS to be oil filled. |

I'd also look into flushing the entire system to get 100% new MB hydraulic fluid in there and the impurities out of there and changing the filter as well (if so equipped)...
good luck -fad |
